Bruce states about this work:
Winged Goddess of Victory. Nike is one of the few pieces I have done that are portraits of actual individuals. A good recognizable likened, motion, exuberance and an upbeat love of life and joy, all characters of the model, were my goals. I like the buoyancy and upbeat feeling of the piece.
I sculpted the wax of Nike in 2008. I sign and date all of my work in the wax. Nike is 14" (35.5cm) tall and stands on a 1 1/8" (3 cm) x 5 1/8" (13 cm) black granite base.
I have two Nikes available at the present time. Numbers 2/30 and 3/30. The 2/30 Lillith is finished in a dark brown patina. Number 3/20 is finished in a medium to dark gray patina, sometimes referred as "Herculaneum Black". I call it pewter because I like to keep the tone more gray than black. I feel the detail in smaller pieces is enhanced when the patinas are not too dark.
All of my sculptures come with a signed and date certificate of authenticity with it's sequence number in the edition.
